FAQs

Q: Why should I pay for “voluntary” charges?

Answer: The school is required to provide an educational program that meets the guidelines of the Western Australian Curriculum and Assessment Online. The Department of Education provides basic funding for each school based on the number of students enrolled, and the school can request up to $235 in voluntary contributions to provide additional resources for core and elective subjects. These funds are used directly for the benefit of your child’s education.

Q: What is the difference between Voluntary Contributions and Voluntary Approved Requests?

Answer: Voluntary Contributions are allocated to resources requested by teachers for their classrooms. Voluntary Approved Requests are costs deemed necessary by the school board to maintain the school’s condition and operations, such as lockers, bus shelters, library shelves, furniture, and software packages.
